30 Jun Taranaki Smokefree Rockquest Regional finalists
Students from Te Paepae o Aotea particpated in the Smokefree Rockquest Taranaki Finals held on 30 June at the TSB Showplace, New Plymouth. We had three entries. All bands to write and play original music. Abby Pennington in the solo category; Matthew Finer, Kayden Brogden-Willis, Emilia Scott and Aries Pouto “The Crystallizers”; and Izzy Logan, Robbie Saysell and Orlando Davidson (Pātea Area School) “Ungoliant”. Ungoliant placed 1st out of 13 bands. Izzy Logan was awarded a musicianship award and Emila Scott won best vocalist. Ungoliant will find out this week if they are one of the Top 30 bands in NZ, with a chance to make the top 10 and play live at the National final.
